FOUNDATION SKATEBOARDS THE BRAND HISTORY
Like its name, the Foundation brand has been a Legend Brand for almost 30 years. In 2022 the American brand will celebrate three decades of skateboarding history. The founding father of Foundation is Tod Swank, a famous pro skater of the 80s. In 1989, with the help of Steve Rocco, the boss of World Industries, he managed to found his brand. And that's how Foundation Skateboards began to come to life.
In the first years of activity the first boards were released and the team began to take shape under the watchful eyes of Tod Swank. In 1990 the first official video was released called "Glam boys on wheels", a very crude video with the first riders who filmed the first clips with Tod and we began to see the birth of the brand.

The team today is made up of incredible pros such as Cole Wilson, Dakota Srvold, Nick Merlino, Ryan Spencer, Aidan Campbell, Corey Glick, Dylan Witkin, Joey Ragali and the legendary Corey Duffel still on the track stronger than ever.
In short, we are talking about Foundation super company and the legendary Tod Swan, the creator of the brand. Tod became famous in the 80s for his innovative skateboarding and a street attitude that few had at the time which allowed him to get to where he is today.
TOD SWANK AND THE MYTHICAL PHOTO "THE PUSH".
Swank was immortalized way back in 1986 by the legendary Transworld Skateboarding photographer J Grant Brittain in the legendary photo "the push".
The story tells of how Grant Brittain saw the commercial and was struck by the sun streaming in between the two highway bridges. He always went to have breakfast somewhere nearby. One day he decided that he had to immortalize a skater in that spot where the sun offered a unique photographic set.
